gm! These are my notes on my misconceptions, what shocked me the most, and details that were glossed over in other writings. Here’s what I wish I knew about 1 week down the web3 rabbit hole — hopefully this saves you some time.

Note: This isn’t meant as a blockchain primer. You’ll get value from reading this if you have a high level understanding and have been dipping your toes into crypto already. Re-writing existing blockchain resources won’t bring you value. imo.

State of the World

Here’s a framing of the world to take as you continue down the rabbit-hole.

The world is owned by governments, conglomerates, and people with lots of influence. Incentive structures all favor the people at the top and the owners of “things” — be this a country, a company, or a house. As a consumer I don’t have rights online with my data and privacy being fully ignored, and have little insight into where my food/clothing/etc. even comes from.

What if instead everything was out in the open, validated, verified, and secure? A world with full transparency and privacy at the same time?

My Personal AHAs

In no particular order notes I jotted down as I realized something “clicked”…
